Asian Youth Centre works in Slums and settlements in and around Chennai. Through research and observation, AYC has zeroed in on certain “hot-spots” in the city where the vulnerable children are whisked away by unscrupulous agents and exploited. Markets, Bus stations, railway stations, Hotels, two-wheeler / bicycle workshops are all places where the children take shelter and are exploited.

AYC has therefore set up over 6 contact points in these locations where the AYC team and volunteers observe and rescue children and motivate them to attend the shelter home where they are given free food, shelter and counselling.AYC also responds to referrals of cases of child protection through ChildLine and provide counselling and shelter services.
